[CROP] Project: Khayamandi

About.

A poster for Khayamandi.

[CROP] Project is a collaborative project that combines poetry, street art, and photography to draw the public’s attention to important issues, as well as to inspire.

For their third project which took place in Khayamandi—a township just outside Stellenbosch, we were asked to design a poster with the words ‘Sililizwi lase Khayamandi’, which means ‘we are the voices of Khayamandi’.

Design.

We wanted to recreate the same kind of lettering that you usually see in townships and other informal areas in South Africa, while the message (‘we are the voices…’) inspired the rest of the design.
